Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing disease.  61 million US adults are at "high risk" for vision loss, yet only half have visited an eye doctor in the past 12 months. Many diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss, and can be a symptom of a larger, undiagnosed systemic condition. Early detection of any problem can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. A thorough eye examination can take an hour or more depending on the complexity of the problem, and Drs. Greg & Christi Marrow have many years of extensive training and experience in the detecting and treating of ocular conditions. Coastal Eye & Wellness utilizes several advanced, state-of-the-art pieces of equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of such conditions. Regular eye exams can have a life-changing impact on protecting and preserving the eyesight of millions of people.

Pediatric Eye CarePediatric and Special Needs Eye Care

We take pride in maintaining and strengthening the vision of our younger patients in an environment that is lighthearted and fun. We understand the importance of pediatric eye care and take a preventative approach to your child’s general health and eye health. Pediatric eye exams are especially important because the human visual system is still developing during the early years. Therefore the earlier that we detect a problem, the better the prognosis. Unfortunately, the quick, screening “test” that is sometimes performed in the schools and pediatrician’s office is just that, a quick screening test. It cannot detect most problematic eye conditions and was never intended to replace a comprehensive examination of the eyes and visual system. Dr. Christi has dedicated much of her career to identifying and treating the unique visual demands of pediatric and special needs patients. At Coastal Eye & Wellness we feel that it is important that all of our pediatric patients have healthy and efficient visual systems to help make the visual demands of learning easier and fun.

Thanks to the advances in optical technology, almost everyone is a candidate for contact lens wear. This includes patients with astigmatism and also those who prefer bifocal or multifocal lenses. At our office, we keep hundreds of contact lenses in stock to suit each individual patient’s needs. We routinely fit daily disposables, monthlies, extended wear, and rigid gas permeable contact lenses. We offer regular and custom lens services for both healthy and difficult to fit patients.

Between them, Drs. Greg & Christi Marrow have almost 50 years of advanced training and experience in diagnosing, treating, and managing ocular diseases, infections, and trauma. For several years, Dr. Greg used to direct an eye clinic in a Naval Hospital and was the Emergency Room on-call eye doctor. Both the doctors at Coastal Eye & Wellness have successfully treated and managed thousands of cases of diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, pink eye, eye injuries, glaucoma, dry eyes, lazy eye, cataracts, autoimmune conditions, Plaquenil use, and a host of other ocular conditions. Using state-of-the-art equipment and training, Drs. Greg & Christi can save you hours of anxious, unnecessary wait time in an ER or Urgent Care facility, as well as subsequent, inconvenient referrals, by getting you seen, and treated, quickly.
